Let the kids of today see what a great man Officer McCloskey was and let his legacy continue to influence Tacony’s and Philadelphia's future. The Joseph C. McCloskey Charitable Fund will support the youth of Tacony through athletics, education and the recognition of good citizenship.
The Joseph C. McCloskey Charitable Fund (“the Fund”) is now a 501(c) (3) corporation. The IRS has stated that “Contributions to the Fund are deductible under section 170 of the code.” All donations on or after April 23, 2012 are now eligible for a Federal Income Tax deduction. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your very generous donation(s) and support in promoting the legacy of Officer McCloskey.
The Fund is proud to announce that the Joseph C. McCloskey Memorial Plaque Dedication took place on Sunday, August 30, 2015. For information and pictures on the Dedication, click on the action button at the bottom of the page for details.
It is with much regret that we announce the passing of one of Joe McCloskey's players and one of his greatest supporters; Charles "Chuck" Newns. He will be missed by all who knew him. Click on the menu at the top of the page.
On May 31, 2015 the Fund awarded four (4) college scholarships; two for the Elizabeth McCloskey Memorial Scholarship for women and two for the John C.
